Division Grower

Position Summary

A Division Grower is expected to lead their crew in cooperation with other growers and departments to accomplish tasks such as proper irrigation, spacing, overwintering, pest and disease scouting as well as other duties as assigned. Essential Functions

  • Leading a foreman and a crew of 15+
  • Maintaining an expense and labor budget
  • Working with staff to maintain irrigation control
  • Maintaining our safety standards
  • Scheduling of PGR applications
  • Inspections of crop health
  • Perform weekend duty on rotation
  • And many others that pertain to finishing the crop on time.

Job Skills

  • Clean driver's license and can pass a drug test and criminal background check
  • Ability to communicate well with subordinates, colleagues, and upper management staff
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to change/ Must be able to work with a team
  • Willing to work longer hours during peak season, and some weekends will be required.
  • Must be able to work within a team.

Experience

  • 2-5 years of growing experience preferred

Desired Skills

  • Bi-lingual ability (Spanish/English) is a bonus attribute
  • Computer skills: Outlook, Word and basic Excel knowledge is preferred

Education

  • 4 year Horticulture (or related) degree or 5+ years of growing experience
 

Travel

Some travel may be required.
