Japanese Hardy Banana

Enormous foliage for a tropical lushness, this Hardy Banana tree is root hardy and able to handle periods of below zero degrees with protective mulch. Has yellow flowers in summer. Grows 8 to 15 feet tall and 8 to 10 feet wide. Flower stalks may be produced in areas with 9-14 months of frost-free conditions. Fruit clusters are spectacular but decorative only.
